Parents and Guardians,
The Everett Area School District has been made aware of a SnapChat post going around this evening, about a threat to an unnamed school. This post was sent to Safe 2 Say , which is run by the Pennsylvania Attorney Generals office. They stated that this post was part of the hoax circulating last week and deemed it to be non-actionable. Out of an abundance of caution we will have an increased police presence at our buildings tomorrow
Thank you

Late this morning high school administration was alerted to a SnapChat post. This post was a threat that was part of a group of SnapChat hoaxs that has been impacting schools throughout several states, Pennsylvania State Police have been investigating. This particular chat has the word Everett superimposed over another school’s name. Out of an abundance of caution, the Middle and High schools were put into “Stay Put” status, this is where we continue normal classroom activities while we keep students in the building and limit the number of students in the hallways. The State and Borough Police were notified. Once the threat was determined to be non-credible, normal school operations were continued.
Please see this document in regards to a recent SnapChat Hoax: https://5il.co/2wfi2
