On Wednesday, May 2nd, twenty-three Everett Middle School sixth graders traveled to Shawnee State Park in Shellsburg, Pa, to take part in the Bedford County Elementary Envirothon Competition. The Warrior Walleyes team of Camden Hauze, Kason Hinish, George Kuhne, Jesse Moore, Noah Shaffer, and Reese Sherwood worked hard to garner a first place, while the Everett Evergreens team of  Eli Cessna, Drake Fetters, Rylan Hicks, Ian Klahre, Elijah Mills, and Jaden Taylor came home with a third place. The other Everett teams were The Green Team of Lillie Chamberlain, Marissa Hillegas, Celeste Martin, Bailey Simons, and Ava Weicht and The Woodcock Warriors team of Isaiah Beegle, Cayden Mallow, Rylan Murdoch, Alisha Richards, Makena Shank, and Derek Wilt. The students studied diligently throughout the year on Pennsylvania environmental and ecology topics such as aquatics, forestry, soils, and wildlife. The Everett students competed against eleven other county teams from Bedford, Hyndman, Northern Bedford, and Tussey Mountain.
