Everett junior Kaitlyn Maxwell was named to the 2019 Sports Writers Pennsylvania All-State Girls Basketball Class AA Team.

It is no secret Everett junior Kaitlyn Maxwell has seen her fair share of success this school year.

It was announced recently she was named to the 2019 Sports Writers Pennsylvania All-State Girls Basketball Team for Class AA.

She averaged 23.7 points per game this year and finished the year with 667 points. In January, she broke the 1,000-point plateau as well.

In addition to the first team accolades, Maxwell helped the Lady Warriors to a 24-4 record. The locals won the District 5-AA title, edging out Windber, 63-42. They knocked off many powerhouses in the western side of Pennsylvania, making it all the way to the state semifinals where they fell to the state runner-up West Middlesex.

Maxwell is a three-time Bedford Gazette all-star, as well as making the Inter-County Conference team. The Lady Warriors fell to state champion Bellwood-Antis in the ICC title game, 63-50.

Maxwell has 1,379 career points through 83 games with the Lady Warriors.

In addition to basketball, Maxwell has found success on the soccer field, track, as well as inside and outside of the classroom.

Maxwell notched her 100th career goal in soccer this fall. Last spring, she finished fourth in the 400 and brought home a sixth-place finish in the 800 at the 2018 PIAA Class AA Track and Field Championships at Shippensburg University.
